The War in Vietnam and Kent State are forever connected in history.
Four Kent Students, protesting the War in Vietnam were murdered
by Ohio National Guardsmen
on May 4, 1970
The American War against Vietnam lacked a clear cut objective and
strategy.
The "enemy" was stereotyped as being less than human and its
culture misunderstood or not considered worthy of understanding.
The American people and their elected representatives were lied to in
order to gain public and legislative support for the war.
The "enemy" was everywhere and every Vietnamese was considered
a potential threat to the lives of the American soldiers.
There were no "front lines" of battle or safe areas for the
occupying forces.
There were many massacres of innocent civilians by the occupying forces.
As the truth emerged about the war, a small antiwar movement grew and
became a national force to be recognized.
Antiwar protestors were condemned as anti-American and aiding the enemy.
Over 58,000 Americans and 1 million Vietnamese died in the war.
. The most powerful military on the globe was defeated by a much weaker
third world country,
. The Vietnam War proved to be the worst foreign policy disaster in
American History...UNTIL NOW!
